A lecturer in the Department of Physical Health Education at the University of Maiduguri, Dr. Kamar Abdulkadir, was reportedly killed in his office by yet-to-be-identified assailants.
The incident happened on Easter Sunday, and was reported on Monday on X by Counter Insurgency Expert, Zagazola Makama.
According to the security analyst, Abdulkadir was allegedly assaulted with a knife and hammer by his attackers, who also took his car and other valuable possessions.
“His hands were peeled off when he tried to stop the attackers from stabbing him. They also used a hammer to smash his head and his spinal cord, killing him instantly,” Makama stated.
Furthermore, the security analyst mentioned, “The victim was discovered lifeless in a pool of blood, and his body had multiple injuries inflicted by his killers.”
In response, the spokesman of the Borno State Police Command, ASP Daso Kenneth, said eight suspects have been apprehended.
“The command received a distress call concerning the murder of Dr. Kamar, and we have confirmed that he was, indeed, killed in his office and that his car was stolen by the perpetrators.
“As of now, eight suspects have been arrested and are currently under investigation to uncover those responsible for this act,” Kenneth said.
