The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has desribed its 2023 Player of The Year and Napoli Forward, Victor Osimhen, as Osi na nwata buru ogaranya 1.
According to Google Translate, it means, “Being rich and young 1.”
The football body added that Osimhen is “Inspiring the next generation with greatness.
CAF stated this via its verified X [formerly Twitter] handle @CAF_Online in recognition of Osimhen’s success.
However, the language employed by CAF is Igbo, whereas Osimhen hails from Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo State and his tribe is Esan.
