Afrobeats singer, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, popularly known as Iyanya, has reacted to the allegations of cheating levied against him by Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson in her book.
Speaking with Foster Aggor in an interview on Star FM Ghana, the Kukere crooner said, “I was hurt, I won’t lie to you”.
Iyanya said he got to know about the book’s content through a friend and that it sounded incredible when he said that he said that he didn’t know the book had been released.
“I was sleeping, and I just woke up to missed calls and all of that. And then I called one of my doctor friends and he said, ‘No way, no way you’ve not seen the book.’ And I was like, what book? That was how I knew”.
He said he was more pained by the fact that Yvonne and he were on good terms before the book’s release; yet she didn’t let him know that he was going to be written about.
He said Yonne had asked him to do an endorsement video for its promotion.
“She called that she was launching a book and needed a video to endorse it, but I didn’t know I was in the book. I did that because we are cool. So it was when the book came out that I knew I was in the book”, he said.
The Gollywood actress had accused Iyanya of cheating on her with Nollywood counterpart Tonto Dikeh while they were dating years back.
She titled the book, “I am not Yvonne Nelson.”
