Former presidential aide Dr. Doyin Okupe, says the presidential candidate of Labour Party in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, betrayed the Peoples Democracy Party’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to run in the election.
Okupe served as Director-General of the Labour Party’s presidential campaign in the 2023 election.
It may be recalled that on January 8, Okupe published his resignation from the Labour Party on his Facebook wall, stating, “Today I resigned my membership from #LabourParty solely on ideological grounds. I have neither grouse nor guile against anyone, either within the leadership or membership of the party.”
However, on Friday, Okupe said that Obi’s presidential interest forced him to go against Atiku, who brought him into national politics.
Okupe denied the insinuation that he was the one that rather betrayed Obi, maintaining that he decided to withdraw his support for the LP presidential candidate because he was no longer interested in working with him.
