African Television will pay for the DNA test, and raise N10 million for Mohbad’s wife to raise their child if DNA proves the child belongs to late Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
This is the promise made by the Chief Executive Officer of the Africa TV, Larry Omodia.
Iya Magazine recalls that Mohbad’s death on September 12 and subsequent burial had been surrounded by lots of controversies. After a widespread outcry for an investigation into his death, his body was exhumed for autopsy and subsequently deposited at a morgue while investigation continues.
However, there have also been some wild allegations about the paternity of his son.
Omodia, in a video explained that the reason for suggesting the DNA test was to counter those who threatened to sue anyone that demands for Mohbad’s child’s paternity test.
“Let them come after me. My name is Larry Omodia, I am the CEO of African TV. I am going to sponsor the DNA test, and I will make sure that the baby gets N10m if he is actually proved to be Mohbad’s child,” he said.
Continuing, Omodia said, “I am doing this because accusation is traumatic, but what is more traumatic than accusation is a life of lies. So, we will compensate Mohbad’s wife if the baby is actually for the deceased; but if that baby is not his, men will learn a lot of lessons from that.
“This message is to Mohbad’s family. Get me the woman and the baby. We’ll do a DNA test. If she has nothing to hide, she will walk away with N10m; that is a promise from African TV. And if you want to sue people for asking for what is right, come after me.
“We are tired of women sending our boys to jail; we are tired of women killing our boys; and we are tired of women lying against our men.
“Do you known how many men are in their graves because of a woman? Kings have been buried by women; future presidents have been put in jail by women.
“It is time to say ‘No’ to slutty women. I am not saying Mohbad’s wife or girlfriend is bad; but we want to clear her name if she is innocent.
“The conversation between her and Mohbad before his demise makes her the first suspect and the only way we can clear her name is by proper investigation.”
Meanwhile, a prophet who identified himself as Oba Ewulomi has claimed that he can resurrect the late Nigerian singer.
Prophet Ewulomi who spoke in a mixture of English and Yoruba languages in a video making the rounds on X (formerly twitter) has demanded access to the singer’s corpse, promising to resurrect him; insisting that Mohbad who died 13days ago can still live again.
“I Promise that Imole Mohbad can still live again. Give me access to his corpse and I will wake him up,” he said.
