Mother of musician Speed Darlington has been on her knees, begging Grammy Award-winner Burna Boy to forgive her son.
The singer and social media sensation, Darlington Okoye, aka Speed Darlington, is said to be missing, though his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju said he is being detained by the Nigerian Police Force in Abuja.
Adeyanju revealed that Speed Darlington, also known as Akpi, was arrested in Lagos last Friday and was immediately transferred to Abuja, where he has remained in detention since.
He claimed that the arrest was based on a formal complaint from Burna Boy; though he did not give details of the petition.
The activist revealed this in a post on his X handle on Tuesday.
He wrote, “We just spent the last 30mins with Speed Darlington and he narrated how he was arrested in Lagos Friday last week, moved around and eventually brought to Abuja and has been in detention since then. Petition against him was written by Burna Boy, we can confirm.”
Meanwhile, on Tuesday via X, Burna Boy tweeted, “Who’s missing?”
The police is yet to release any information on the matter, but online sources are suspecting that Speed Darlington’s arrest might not be unconnected to this video:
American music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, 54, was arrested by federal agents at a New York City hotel on an indictment charging him with a racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation for purposes of prostitution, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Manhattan said.
Combs, famous for his music career, Bad Boy Records label and the MTV reality television programme ‘Making the Band,’ could face life in prison if convicted.
Combs pleaded not guilty to the criminal charges on Tuesday, Sept. 17, in federal court in Manhattan.
The indictment comes months after several civil lawsuits that began in November 2023 when Combs’ one-time girlfriend, the singer Cassie, accused him of sexually and physically assaulting her during their relationship.
Earlier in March, Federal agents found firearms and at least a thousand bottles of baby oil during searches of properties belonging to Sean “Diddy” Combs in both Los Angeles and Miami, three sources familiar with the matter said Tuesday.
