Why we sued APC national chairman -Group

A group, North Central All Progressive Congress (APC) Forum, has explained why a legal action was instituted against the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.

The group’s Chairman, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, gave the explanation in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday.

Zazzaga said the major interest of the forum was to champion the course of the north central zone.

He said it was against the backdrop that Ganduje was sued at a Federal High Court, Abuja to take back the party’s national chairmanship position, which he said “is the entitlement off the region.”

He called on all the party members from the region to pray for a successful outcome of their case fixed for July 5, for hearing.

Zazzaga, however, commended the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for all the developmental projects embarked upon.

The forum chairman called on all the northern leaders, who opposed the appointment of Wike as Minister of FCT to tender an apology for him.

He said the apology became necessary since Wike has proven his critics wrong that he is an achiever.

Zazzaga said the FCT minister, within the period he assumed office, had embarked on projects that had positive impacts on FCT residents and Nigeria at large.

According to him, reports reaching the forum suggests that even those who vehemently opposed Wike’s appointment have now come to terms that the minister is actually repositioning the city in terms of road construction, infrastructural development and security architecture.

“So, if we all agree now that Wike is currently performing and doing well as the FCT minister, the most honourable thing to do is to openly acknowledge it.

“And let all those who vehemently opposed his appointment as the FCT minister because he is not from the north, come out openly and apologise to him.

“The FCT minister must not be from the north, as it is not stated in Nigerian constitution, and even if anyone should complain, it is we from the North Central under which Abuja falls,” he said.

Zazzaga then thanked President Bola Tinubu for appointing Wike as the FCT minister.

“The President has seen in him what many of us did not see, and now Wike is proving to all that he is able and capable.”
