In a shocking incident that unfolded in Owo, Ondo State, a woman identified as Damilola Christiana Sunday is currently fighting for her life at Adelabu Hospital in Uka.
The victim had been in a three-year-long relationship with a man named Kehinde (surname withheld), but she decided to end the relationship due to his abusive behavior.
Last week Monday, the man, allegedly refusing to accept the breakup, visited Christiana’s residence where he reportedly attacked her with a machete before locking her inside the house, believing her to be deceased.
Disturbed by the commotion, concerned neighbors attempted to intervene but were met with threats from the assailant, who allegedly brandished a cutlass, preventing them from aiding the victim. As the neighbors prepared to defend themselves and confront the aggressor, the man was said to have fled the scene.
The harrowing incident has left Christiana in critical condition, with her life hanging in the balance.
Law enforcement authorities are actively searching for Kehinde, who is said to be on the run.
