1,028 diphtheria, cholera cases recorded in Zamfara

One thousand and twenty eight (1,028) cases of diphtheria and cholera have been recorded in the latest outbreak across the 14 local government areas of Zamfara State.

The state commissioner for health, Dr. Aisha Mohammed Anka, confirmed the development to reporters shortly after her visit to some General Hospitals in Gusau, the state capital.

Dr. Anka says the state Ministry of Health received the information of the outbreaks in some communities last week.

She adds that measures have been put in place by the state government to control the outbreak of the diseases, while affected persons are already receiving treatment.
