VIDEO: Ayefele tells his precocious kids why he’s wheelchair-bound!

It was a moment of raw emotion and honesty, as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated gospel singers, Yinka Ayefele, talked to his sons about the tragic accident that changed his life forever.

The video, posted on his Instagram account with the caption “They always want me to stand up… And they kept asking me why every day, even up till last night… I tried hard not to be emotional… Indeed, it was ‘My turning point. 12/12/1997’. To God be the Glory,” showed Ayefele lying on a bed with his three young kids, who are eager to learn more about their father’s condition.

“Why can’t you stand up?” asked Richard, the most inquisitive of the trio.

“I had an accident,” Ayefele replied, with a calm voice.

“What kind of accident?” Richard persisted.

Ayefele then told them the harrowing story of how he was driving to a show on December 12, 1997, when his car skidded off the road, flipped over six times, and plunged into a ditch.
