A barber’s attempt to spice up his love life with a herbal concoction reportedly ended in tragedy when his lover died during a sex romp at a guest house in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The incident happened Tuesday at a popular guest house in the Temidire area of the city, where the barber had allegedly booked a room with his lover, a middle-aged woman.
Sources said the barber was suspected of taking some herbal mixtures before meeting his lover, according to The Guardian.
However, things reportedly took a turn for the worse when the woman allegedly complained of tiredness and started bleeding from her private part.
“She was gasping for breath and we saw blood coming out of her. She was helpless and then she died,” a source said.
The barber and some hotel staff were said to have rushed the woman to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead by a doctor on duty.
The guest house owner alerted the police, who arrived at the scene and arrested the barber.
The spokesperson for the state police command, Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the arrest of the barber and said that investigations were ongoing to unravel the cause of death.
He said that the police would also examine the herbal concoctions that the barber reportedly had taken and find out if they had any adverse effects on him or his lover.
