The Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company says it has slashed the tariff payable by its Band A customers to N206.80 per kilowatt-hour from the N225/kWh approved by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission.
IKEDC disclosed this in a tweet on Monday.
According to the notice, the downward tariff review of the Band A customers would take effect from Monday, May 6, 2024 [today].
The DisCo, while guaranteeing a minimum of 20-hour daily power supply for those on Band A feeders, noted that the tariffs of customers on other bands remain unchanged.

In fact, we don’t really know exactly how much you charge us.
For 30k, I got just 110 units. I did all the mathematics and it wasn’t matching up. It’s really crazy.— £vergreen (@EverG_22) May 6, 2024
FG should make each discos compete in all territories and let the market determine their sustainability . The customers should have so many choices to pick from .

Nah only band a dey enjoy light 20-24 hours! The rest suffer heat! You’re rubbing it in our faces again pe they’re privileged to what we don’t have! And nah source of joy for una? Enu yin ma kan— layemi💕❤️ (@Sarah510594331) May 6, 2024
Dear Ikeja Electric,
you’ve been selling power to us at the rate of 241/kwh and not 225/kwh, and it’s not sustainable. 120-150/kwh maybe fair. Why you’ve not received mass protest is bcos those on Band A are less than 2% nationwide.
PLEASE BE GUIDED.

I am not on band A and the rate my light finish nowadays is too frustrating how can i be recharging 5000 every week. Before 5000 lasted me for 3 weeks but now just a week. And you are saying band B and co still remain the same, that’s a big lie.
