Desperate thieves scale fence, steal sallah ram in Abuja

Persons suspected to be hoodlums have allegedly scaled the fence of a private house in the Federal Capital Territory and made away with a ram belonging to one Malam Mundi Shuaibu.

Shuaibu reportedly bought the ram for N215,000 a few days before it was stolen.

Shuaibu, a resident of Unguwar Sabon-Tasha in Abaji Area, had bought the ram to slaughter for the Eid el-Kabir.

Shuaibu’s house shares a fence with the cattle market in the area which holds every five days.

A neighbour, Abdullahi Ahmed, said the incident happened on Saturday around 1:12pm after the victim had gone out.

He said, “When my neighbour returned around 4pm and went to his backyard where he kept the ram tied down with a rope, he found nothing.”

Ahmed told our reporter that the owner of the ram said he bought it at N215,000 last week for the forthcoming Eid el-Kabir.
