Compared to times past, women are more versatile with busy schedules and a lot of work that makes it difficult to keep fit. We can all agree that we always have this at the back of our minds when we take a smoothie or eat snacks along the way to the office but conclude that there’s little we can do about it. This makes us content with weight gain, loss of fitness, and ultimately that “figure eight” shape we have come to enjoy. If you are at the crossroads of choosing between fitness and work, it does not have to be this way. Here are the top fitness tips for busy women:
1. Never Skip a Healthy Breakfast
Have you ever heard that breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day? Well, they were not kidding because it is the meal that gets you enough glucose, fibre, vitamins, and protein to sustain you for the rest of the day. Without a healthy breakfast, you tend to overeat, which causes unwanted weight gain, so you should never skip it.
2. Have a simple exercise in the morning
It might seem like you have absolutely no time for workouts, especially since you come out all guns blazing when you wake up. However, if you really can look at your morning routine, you see that you still have time to respond to messages and go through your social media profiles. Instead, you can look through these social media profiles and still have a simple morning routine. For example, if you’re struggling with tummy fat, you can do ten sit-up routines when you wake. This would not stress you, but you get good results with consistency.
3. Hydrate
Don’t look at me as if you don’t know what this is; you don’t hydrate enough, and you know it. So, replace your carbonated drinks and mid-day smoothies with enough water. This helps prevent any form of dehydration, which means you remain healthy.
4. Replace junk food with healthy snacks
Yeah, sure, you spend your lunch breaks at the city mall with many junk foods to choose from; let me tell you, you are not doing your body any good. So instead, replace your junk and oily foods with rich and healthy snacks like nuts, apple & peanut butter, and Greek yoghurt, which do your body a wealth of good. It might seem difficult initially, but it is worth it.
5. Reduce your carbs
If there’s one food we love here in Nigeria, it is rice, and I’m sure you’ve heard it times without number when people say, “na only rice we dey chop for Nigeria,” but this is far from the truth. So, diversify your diet by cutting your refined carbs and taking foods rich in vitamins, protein, and calcium for a healthy body today.
These are some essential tips for busy women; they’re easy to incorporate into your lifestyle, especially if you understand that you have the right to look as good as you want. From us here at Iya Magazine, we say goodbye and see you next week.
