FG probes reasons for Saudi cancellation of 264 passengers’ visas

The Federal Government has initiated moves to unravel the reasons for the cancellation of visas for 264 passengers who were airlifted to Jeddah from Lagos and Kano. The investigation is being carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to determine whether any consular or aviation rules were violated in the process.

The statement by the Special Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Al-Kasim Abdulkadir, indicates the government is taking the matter seriously and is actively looking into the circumstances surrounding the cancellation of the visas.

That Nigeria’s recent participation in the Saudi-Africa summit, where bilateral discussions and commitments were made, might imply that the incident is of particular concern given the diplomatic context.

Without more details, it’s challenging to provide specific insights into the reasons for the visa cancellations or the potential implications.

However, it appears that the government is addressing the issue and will determine the appropriate course of action based on the findings of the investigation.
