Gowon, GEJ grace First Family Carol Service

Embracing the spirit of the season, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu assured Nigerians that the year 2024 would unfold as a period of divine peace and rest for every citizen.

She spoke during the 2023 Service of Nine Lessons and Carols at the Presidential Villa.

The First Family Carol Service, themed: “Immanuel, Our Hope of Glory,” resonated with a message of optimism and renewal.

Taking the 8th lesson, the First Lady echoed a hope of divine intervention for the nation in the coming year, expressing her confidence in Nigeria’s positive trajectory stating: “I believe the best is now in Nigeria and 2024 is the year of peace. Nigeria will soon take her place of pride in the comity of nations.”

Earlier, the President, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Dr. Dan Okoh, had set an optimistic tone in his homily, and also expressed confidence in Nigeria’s resurgence under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, urging the congregation to prioritize love and genuine reconciliation in all aspects of life.

He said: “Individuals should be voices of reconciliation, not crises and division. This is the time to let go of all bitterness and anger,” emphasizing the significance of Christmas as a season for fostering unity.

The First Lady, appreciating the presence of former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon and former President Goodluck Jonathan, who were both in attendance at the inaugural service of Nine Lessons and Carols organized by the First Family, also urged religious leaders to resonate with a collective hope for a prosperous and peaceful 2024.
