The Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, has shared some tips on how to safely share explicit content online and avoid falling victim to extortion and blackmail.
Hundeyin made this known on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday, amid the rising cases of leaked private videos and pictures on social media.
He said he has handled many complaints from people who were threatened by someone with their nudes and demanded money or other favours.
He advised people to be careful about who they trust with their nude photos and to take some precautions if they have to share them, such as limiting the viewing time and hiding their identity, among others.
See the tweet:
If you must send nudes, at least do one-view or cover your face or any other identification mark. And do not forget that video calls can be screen shot/recorded. For others, it is a clandestine recording of their intimate moments, of course without consent.
I have honestly lost…
