I didn’t buy new cars as minister -Oby Ezekwesili

A former Minister of Education Oby Ezekwesili, who had also served as a Minister of Mineral Resources, has denied ever buying new cars for herself while in office.

She made this clarification on her X [formerly Twitter] handle after some Nigerians slammed her for condemning the National Assembly members who are planning to buy new vehicles worth millions of Naira for themselves.

Ezekwesili was furious with the lawmakers and had called them “incorrigible bunch of lawbreakers.”

However, some Nigerians accused her of being hypocritical and claimed that she also acquired new vehicles when she was a minister.

Ezekwesili refuted this allegation and said that she inherited the old vehicles from her predecessors and instructed the permanent secretary to repair them.
