After about a week of being the butt of internet controversies and jokes, Ghanaian musician Sarkodie has responded to his ex-girlfriend Yvonne Nelson.
Yvonne had claimed in her book that a jittery 22-year-old Sarkodie had asked her to procure abortion when she informed him that she was pregnant for him.
The Ghanaian Rap head responded in a new track he released a day ago, which he titled “Try me”.
The song, which was delivered in Twi and English, as is his usual style, has the rapper clapping several rounds of counter-accusations at the Ghollywood actress.
First, he accused Yvonne Nelson of being one-sided in her story and not telling the entire truth, as he claims she carefully crafted her story in a way as to buy public empathy.
He claimed that their relationship was a fling and nothing serious, tagging it a “thing’.
He even accused her of forcing herself on him as he said in his first verse: “I was trying to stay away from you, but you came”.
Much further in the song, he touched on the main part of the conversation that had gotten everyone talking for the past few days, which is the abortion claims.
He said although he was not ready for a baby then, he still told her to keep the baby.
“Yes, I wasn’t ready but then, I told you to keep it”, Sarkodie sang.
This completely negates Yvonne’s claims that he shied away from his responsibilities and made her do an abortion.
Concerning Yvonne’s book, the rapper tagged it an attempt at clout-chasing and a mere money-making endeavor, as he summed up her effort as “just chasing the bag”.
He also said he’s not surprised that the book is doing good numbers as, “We’re living in a world where negativity sells.”
Sarkodie instructed her to take the blame, saying nobody is the cause of her bad life choices.
He prayed she gets the healing she needs.
