I got calls, messages from two million people -Billion Dollars Prophet suing Chef Dammy for N20m

Prophet Adegoke Jeremiah (a.k.a Billionaire Dollars Prophet) and founder of Spirit Word Global Mission says he received “no fewer than two million” calls and messages from across the world concerning an alleged defamatory post made by Damilola Adeparusi, a.k.a Chef Dammy, on her Instagram wall.

Billion Dollars Prophet and Chef Dammy have been involved in public spat since the 24-year-old undergraduate’s cook-a-thon attempt, which was allegedly sponsored by the Prophet.

Chef Dammy said on her Instagram page on Thursday, October 19 that Prophet Adegoke Jeremiah should be held responsible if anything happened to her.

This post came on the heels of a 120-hour cooking marathon she held in partnership with the Spirit Word Global Mission from June 9 to 13, 2023.

The 400-level mass communication student of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) had written, “I’ll be having an interview in Lagos soon. And I’m ready to let everything out once I get back. But in case anything happens to me; Adegoke Jeremiah, A.K.A Billion Dollars Prophet, hold him responsible. He told me to prepare for war and we are both on it.”

In response, Adegoke instituted a suit against Chef Dammy, asking for N20m in damages for alleged defamation of character.

Said his solicitors, “Our client has been inundated with several calls and messages from no fewer than two million people across the world expressing shock and awe with the defamatory statements you posted, which is an imputation of crime against our client which has reduced him to nothing by those that accord him with so much respect.

“In view of the incalculable damage you have done to the good reputation of our client, we demand for a retraction of the libellous statement on all the social media particularly your Instagram page and two (2) widely read national dailies.”
