The Massey Children Hospital on Lagos Island under construction will serve residents of Lagos State for centuries when completed.
According to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, while inspecting the project said he undermined the size of the project, adding that he was impressed with the extent and quality of work done.
He assured that the project would be ready for inauguration in 2025.
The governor stated this when he inspected the level of work at the hospital and the multi-storey car park.
The governor said the hospital and the reconstruction of the nearby Lagos Island East Local Government Secretariat would add to the regeneration of Lagos Island.
The Chairman of the Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area, Mr Alade Folawiyo said he was happy that the construction of the new Massey Children Hospital was happening during his tenure and that it would be a befitting gift to children of Lagos Island on the centenary of the famous children hospital.
On the governor’s team to inspect the projects were the Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi and top officials of the Ministry of Health.
