Nigerian singer and rapper, Habeeb Olalomi Oyegbile, popularly known as Portable or Dr. Zeh, has said that he must perform at the Celestial Church of God, Goshen Land Cathedral’s Ankara/Praise Night in Lagos.
The church had earlier invited Portable and Fuji singer, Pasuma Alabi to its praise night scheduled to hold on December 15, 2023; an announcement that set the social media on fire.
While some Nigerians expressed disappointment over the invitation extended to the duo, others questioned the shift towards using the temple of God for amusement.
Following the public outrage, the leader of the Celestial Church of Christ International Headquarters in Ketu, Olatosho Oshoffa, disapproved of the invitation.
Responding on his facebook page, Oshoffa wrote, “Dear Celestians, I have just had a lengthy conversation with the Shepherd in Charge of the aforementioned Parish and he has promised to amend the posters.
“He has assured me that the aforementioned musicians in question won’t be attending the praise night. Without a doubt, that particular poster is highly unacceptable. God bless CCC. Amen.”
Portable, in a viral video, however stated that he must perform at the church, disclosing that he was paid N5 million for his performance.
Speaking in Yoruba, Protable said, “Celestial church, we must do the show o, you have already paid me N5million. Pasuma will perform, I will also perform and we must do it.
“The children of God are coming. Land of Goshen Cathedral, please in God’s name, consider us as children of God. Don’t judge me by my appearance. Truly, i am wicked but people have been wicked to me since i was born.” he said, chanting a spiritual song.
Be further stated, “Celestial Church, do not hinder the work of God, for It has been written that i am an angel and I will perform at Celestial church. My fans, come out, vote for me, we have to perform.”
