A gate man named Happiness Sunday was sentenced to three life terms by an Ikeja court for sexually abusing two children aged 10 and eight, who were his employer’s kids.
The judge, Justice Abiola Soladoye, found him guilty of three counts of defilement and sexual assault by penetration under the Lagos State Criminal Law.
The judge said that the evidence showed that Sunday molested the children and lied about it when confronted by their grandmother and the police.
The judge described Sunday as a bisexual, desperate and wicked sexual terrorist who violated children and betrayed his employer.
The judge said that Sunday’s actions were unacceptable, beastly and disgraceful and he deserved to be locked up for life.
The judge also ordered that Sunday’s name be added to the Lagos State Sexual Offences Register.
The judge advised parents to protect their children from predators like Sunday.
The prosecution, led by Mrs. Olufunke Adegoke, had four witnesses and three exhibits to prove their case, while Sunday was the only witness for his defence.
The prosecution said that Sunday committed the offences in 2020 on Jaye Oyedotun Street, Magodo, Lagos State.
