A 23-year-old unemployed man, Dada Dauda, was on Tuesday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for alleged possession of live cartridge.
Dauda, whose address was not provided, is charged with possession of live cartridge.
The Prosecution Counsel, Insp Toyin Ibrahim, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 15, at about 5. 30 a.m, at Oluwo area, Ibadan.
Ibrahhim said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 417(D) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs. Kausarat Ayofe, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000 and two sureties in like sum. She adjourned the case until June 4 for hearing.
If found guilty of a felony, the convict is liable to imprisonment for three years.
If the offender has been previously convicted of a felony relating to property, he is liable to imprisonment for seven years. (NAN)
