In a highly anticipated event for basketball enthusiasts worldwide, the 2024 NBA Draft has unveiled its roster, featuring a notable entry: LeBron James’s son among the 58 talented prospects selected.
This milestone marks a new chapter in the league’s history, showcasing a diverse array of promising athletes poised to make their mark on professional basketball.
According to the latest update on the NBA draft website on Friday, there were 58 athletes drafted altogether with 30 making the first round 28, the second.
The 2024 NBA draft was the 78th edition of the National Basketball Association’s annual draft. Unlike recent years, the 2024 draft took place over two nights – June 26 and 27, 2024.
The events took place at Barclays Center and ESPN Seaport District Studios.
Ulrich Chomche, a talented basketball player from Cameroon, representing NBA Academy Africa—an elite basketball training centre in Saly, Senegal— was selected 57th overall by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2024 NBA Draft presented by State Farm.
Adem Bona, a Nigerian-Turkish centre, was taken 41st by the Philadelphia 76ers and figures to back up Cameroonian star big man Joel Embiid.
Meanwhile, four-time NBA Most Valuable Player LeBron James, the 39-year-old Lakers playmaker who is a four-time NBA champion, has said he would like to play alongside his son next season — in what would be the first father-son combination in NBA history.
The number one pick is — Zaccharie Risacher (Atlanta Hawks).
