Owa-Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Aromolaran, joins his ancestors

The Owa-Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, has joined his forefathers.

The announcement was made in a statement signed by the Asiwaju of Ijesaland, Chief Yinka Fasuyi, and released on Thursday in Osogbo, the state capital.

Prior to Fasuyi’s confirmation, there had been concerns about the monarch’s health, as he was reported to have been unwell.

In a tribute, Fasuyi noted:

Meanwhile, the palace of has been taken over by security operatives following the death of the monarch.
The 87-year-old Aromolaran, who has been on the throne for 42 years, was admitted to Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife, Osun State, until Wednesday.

According to sources, the gate to the palace has been shut by security operatives, and personal belongings of the king are being moved out of the palace.

According to a security operatives of the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services have taken over the palace and shut the gates. The development has sparked tension in the area, with many residents expressing concern about the situation.
