Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has approved the recruitment of 338 officers into the State’s Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA).
This was made known on Thursday in Ibadan by the OYRTMA Chairman, Adesagba Adekoya, through a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Dotun Oyelade.
During the screening exercise held at the OYRTMA operational headquarters in Sanyo, Ibadan, Adekoya reportedly stated that there were approximately 2,450 applicants. However, after a thorough screening process, Governor Makinde approved 338 officers.
Adekoya said, “We have here today able-bodied men and women from Ogbomosho, Ibarapa, Oke-Ogun, Oyo town, and Ibadan, competing for the various positions in OYRTMA.”
He further explained, “This recruitment exercise is organized with the collaborative efforts of the state Civil Service Commission and Ministry of Establishment and Training. The screening exercise entails registration, accreditation, physical test, and medical test.
“Successful applicants at the first stage would move on to other stages before the interview session, which would be conducted by the Civil Service Commission and Ministry of Establishment and Training.”
Also present at the occasion was the Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, represented by the Senior Administrative Officer on Recruitment, Adelowo Oladapo.
In his statement, Adelowo reportedly commended the Governor for his efforts to reduce the level of unemployment in the state.
