The Lagos State Police command says it has arrested one Bashiru Ahmed, following allegations that he cut the ear of his friend.
The spokesperson for the Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest and disclosed that the incident took place at an abattoir in the Agege area of Lagos on Monday.
Providing details, Hundeyin stated that the victim, Abdulahi Adulmalik, reported the case at the Abattoir Police Division on the same day.
According to the complainant, Bashiru Ahmed, also from the Abattoir Market, used a knife to amputate his right ear at around 4:00 am, resulting from a misunderstanding between them dating back to 2023.
The injured party was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment, where he is currently undergoing medical care.
Hundeyin added that Bashiru Ahmed is currently in custody for further interrogation.
