Seven kidnapped Gusau varsity female students regain freedom

Seven more female out of the kidnapped students of the Federal University Gusau in Zamfara State, have been freed by the Joint Task Force of Operation Hadarin Daji.

Last Friday, bandits attacked the university and abducted about 30 students from their rented lodge in the Sabon Gida, Bungudu LGA of the state.

According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, the seven students were rescued alongside three male workers of Gupran Engineering Services Ltd.

The rescue operations of the new seven students in addition to the six rescued on Friday sums the number of freed students to 13.

President Bola Tinubu, on Sunday, fumed over the abduction of 30 students of the Federal University, Gusau, in Zamfara State by bandits in the early hours of Friday.

As of Sunday, 21 of the students were still in captivity.

The Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Mani Mummuni, who was at the university to sympathise with the families and the school authorities over the incident, called on security agencies to hasten the rescue of the kidnapped students.
