The association of Masu Karatun Allo Na Tsanganya Nigeria has lauded President Bola Tinubu’s appointment of a new leadership of the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education.
This is contained in a statement by Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi, the national chairman of the association on Thursday [today] in Bauchi.
Tinubu appointed Brig-Gen. Lawal Ja’afaru Isa (rtd), as the Chairman of the Board of the Commission, while Dr. Idris Muhammad Sani would serve as the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Commission.
Abdullahi said the gesture was a clear demonstration of the President Tinubu’s disposition to reinvigorate the teaching of the Holy Qur’an as well as address the plight of the Tsangaya school and improve the wellbeing of the Almajiri.
“Lawal Jafaru Isa is an astute educationist and administrator with proven track record in his career as well as the military administrator of Kaduna State.
“His appointment could be ascribed as “best decision” taken by President Tinubu to holistically bring sustainable development in the Qur’anic teaching and learning, welfare of Alarammomi (teachers), and ensure access to quality education for Almajiri and out-of-school children,” he said.
While congratulating the new leadership, Abdullahi urged them to run an open door policy and engage Tsangaya organisations to fast track successful implementation of the programme, to facilitate sustainable development in the sector. (NAN)
