President Bola Tinubu has conferred the national honour of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) on every member of the Super Eagles that participated at the just concluded 2023 AFCON.
Each member of the AFCON silver medal-winning team also obtained one flat in Nigeria and a plot of Land in the Federal Capital Territory. The President described the gesture as “a sign of gratitude for their service.”
The President hosted the national football team at the Council Chambers of the State House.
The delegation to the presidency was led by the Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh; and officials of the Nigeria Football Federation [NFF].
The Super Eagles came second in the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) hosted by Côte d’Ivoire.
