Bank security men stop suspected terrorist from detonating IEDs

The Police say they have arrested a young man who stormed a bank in Dadin Kowa town, Jos South, Plateau State, with belts packed with improvised explosives strapped round his waist.

It was gathered that the suspect was apprehended on Monday, May 13, 2024, after he was suspected of carrying the explosives by the vigilant security at the bank.

The men were said to have prevented him from detonating the bomb.

A viral video showed the vigilante security guards surrounding and apprehending him before he could achieve his aim.

An angry mob later surrounded the suspect and demanded that he be killed immediately.

While some of the crowd claimed that the suspect was linked with the Islamic State of the West African Province [ISWAP] or Boko Haram, there was nothing to suggest such immediately.

He was eventually taken to a Police station in the area.
