Chioma Nnadi, First Black woman to head British Vogue’s editorial content

British Vogue has announced Chioma Nnadi as its new head of editorial content.

Nnadi was born and bought up in London. Her father was from Nigeria, and had come to the UK to study in the 1960s, and her mother was a Swiss-German nurse. She will succeed Edward Enninful, who stepped down as editor-in-chief in June after six years.

Nnadi, 44, is a fashion journalist who was born in London and has worked for various publications, including The Evening Standard, The Fader and Vogue.com.

She will be the first woman and the first black person to lead the editorial team of the influential fashion magazine.

Nnadi expressed her gratitude and excitement on Instagram on Monday, writing:

“I’m so thrilled to announce that I’m the new head of editorial content for @britishvogue,” she wrote.

“Huge thanks to Anna Wintour, @edward enninful and Roger Lynch for giving me this opportunity. truly honoured and so excited to be coming home. Stay tuned.
