Deborah Obasohan thought she had a date when a man asked her out for dinner. Little did she know that he would make her pay for her own meal.
She shared her story on X [formerly Twitter] via her handle @Debby_cocoxx, where she revealed how the man tricked her into footing the bill.
According to her, “He didn’t pick anything for himself. He said take anything you want I will pay, don’t worry.
“I chose the cheapest of all meals. I didn’t buy any drink, that was how conscious I was.
“Even after I made payment he said he was going to refund. Mind you , I was minding my business when this nigga offered to buy me dinner.
“The money isn’t the problem, I’m just disappointed. What stopped him from saying, ‘Debby I’m taking you out and you are paying for your meal?'”
Deborah, who probably felt embarrassed, said she decided to settle the bill herself.
The man assured her that he would make a refund as soon as possible, but when she contacted him days later, he told her “to chill small”.
