The Nigerian Police Force in Kano State says it has arrested 33-year-old Sadam Mu’azu, popularly known as “Badoo” of Tukuntawa Quarters in Kano metropolis.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna, explained that the cops in the state arrested Badoo on April 22.
He said, “The arrest followed receipt of reports of public outcry by Tukuntawa Quarters and adjoining communities on his activities of receiving supply of illicit drugs and cannabis, especially from Eastern parts of the country and distributing them to youths, including housewives.”
Haruna said the suspect had been in the wanted list of the Kano command for a long time.
“The success was as a result of painstaking surveillance and community partnership initiative of the Commissioner of Police, Usaini Gumel, who instructed dedicated teams of detectives led by SP Hussaini Gimba in conjunction with DPO Sharada Division, CSP Bilyaminu Bello to ensure the arrest of the suspect with all his associates.
“This dedication led to his arrest on the 22nd April, 2024, and later eight other members of his network.
“Exhibits recovered include 11 parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, a cutlass, five motorcycles that are being used for sale and distribution.
“The sum of N111,500 in different denominations suspected to be proceeds of crime was also recovered,” the PPRO said.
The PPRO added that Gumel appreciated the community partnership team-work for the success recorded.
