Sanwo-Olu gifts LASU best graduating student N10m

The age-old adage that ‘hard work pays off’ proved itself true on Thursday [today] when the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu gifted the overall best graduating student at LASU, Yusuf Aminat, N10m for her brilliance.

It is a testament to the power of commitment, resilience, and unwavering dedication to a goal set by Yusuf, who said she had set out to achieve the feat despite the challenges she encountered.

Yusuf, a graduate of Law, had emerged the best graduating student for the 2021/2022 academic session with a perfect 5.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA), highest point recorded since the inception of the university 40years ago.

Her exceptional achievement have captured the attention of many including her peers, lecturers, professors, parents, community and prominent members of the society among others. With a smile filled with pride, Governor Sanwo-Olu announced a gift that goes beyond words – a staggering sum of N10 million.

“As a token of her brilliance, I will be giving her a token donation of N5m and the state government will give her additional donation of N5m. Well done and congratulations,” the governor said.

This came barely three days after the Oniba of Iba Kingdom, Oba Adeshina Sulieman Ashade, hosted the academic star to celebrate her uncommon feat, presenting her a cheque of N2m in recognition of her hard work.

It would be recalled that the university management was the first to reward the genius Law scholar with a substantial N500,000 cash prize.

Yusuf, an indigene of Edo State, thanked the governor for his kind gesture, describing how her determination for academic excellence helped her to achieve the feat despite the financial constraints she experienced during her study.

She thanked her parents and lecturers for motivating and inspiring her to achieve the feat.

Her diligence has not only brought her to the limelight but it has also brought her before people that matter in the society.
