Tinubu kicks against unauthorised attendance at FEC meetings

President Bola Tinubu, on Monday, issued a stern warning against unauthorized attendance of the Federal Executive Council (FEC)meeting.

At the Presidential Villa in Abuja, shortly before the commencement of the day’s meeting, the president told government officials and family members against attending the very important meeting without a formal invitation.

Tinubu expressed his concerns about unauthorized access to the council in the previous week and stressed that such actions are clearly unacceptable.

He clarified that only specific individuals were allowed to attend the meeting including Hadiza Usman, the Special Adviser on Policy Coordination, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser of Information and Strategy, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, Principal Private Secretary and Damiloun Aderemi, the Private Secretary.

The president emphasized that unless he personally extended an invitation, no one should attend the FEC meeting henceforth.

He also instructed the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, and Folashade Yemi-Esan, Head of Civil Service of the Federation, to ensure that his directive was strictly adhered to.
