My wife gave up dream of studying in Australia just to marry me -X user

X [formerly Twitter] user, Nampon @nanpon_majau, who claims to aid people in finding and fulfilling their purpose via evangelism, has narrated how a young lady gave up the opportunity to study in Australia three years ago in preference to getting married to him.

Nampon had tweeted: “Three years ago, this woman literally refused to go to school in Australia because she wanted to marry me. What was she thinking? Now a liter of fuel is almost 700 naira and she’s stuck here with me, a 2-year old baby and another on the way. But guess what? She’s having the time of her life as I am also!

“There are downs quite alright but we have a lot of ups!!!! We’re learning to walk with God, we’re growing everyday, we’re being an example of a godly family to our generation! We’re seeing the light and being the light! Tash is a bundle of joy and we are filled with joyous anticipation for the baby that’s to come! It’s glorious!

“Thanks babe for the sacrifice. I don’t know if I would have done the same. Just kidding. I will give you the world. I love you so so so so so much.

“It’s sad that so many Nigerians are lost in the rat race of money chasing. They’re either saying ‘she made a mistake’ or ‘he is selfish’ showing the fact that they don’t understand God or His way of doing things.

“Someone can be in Australia and be frustrated because they’re not where God wants them to be; while another person can be in Nigeria and flourish.

“And that’s what we’re tackling with the excellent conference. Isaac sowed in a land of famine and reaped a hundredfold! It’s not about a physical location but a God location. Follow God not gold!”

These are some of the reactions that greeted the tweet:

Beautiful @Beautiranye tweeted: Analyzing this thread: A woman refused to go to school abroad for love. I think, that’s feminism. Her own choice; he didn’t push her to, he didn’t force her to. She chose it.

The use of “she’s stuck here with me” isn’t a pleasant phrase to use.

“I don’t know if I would have done the same”. Is a lot of Men. He wasn’t kidding. He meant it. But this post is more about the woman than him. So, I applaud her. If she’s happy with her choices and not regretting it, I love it for her.
Cheers to more happy years.

𝕸𝖆𝖟𝖎 𝕷𝖚𝖕𝖎𝖓 @LupinIkenga responded: Instead of you to show appreciation for your wife, you rather decided to insult her & demean her in a very condescending manner. There’s nothing cute about this write up. I know people won’t tell you the truth but I can’t keep my mouth & watch you do this to this innocent woman.

Thabani Mnyama @thabanimnyama: Noticing many are missing the humor in your post, as much as we are strangers I love such beautiful stories on love and wish you and her nothing but the very best. Here is to an even bigger family.
