The Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the policemen who, in a viral video requested the tinted permit from a motorist under questionable circumstances, have been traced, identified, and are undergoing investigation.
A video showing plainclothes individuals requesting a motorist’s tinted glass permit went viral on Sunday.
In the video, the men alighted from a white vehicle without a number plate at its rear and are heard asking the motorist for his car’s tinted permit.
The driver states, “It’s a factory tinted glass and I can’t remember the last time police asked me for a tinted permit because that was canceled two years ago.”
When asked about the police division, a voice responds, “We are from state CID Zone 2, VI here. Please, can you give me your tinted permit, sir?”
Reacting to the video on Sunday, Adejobi said, “These policemen have been traced to Zone 2 and identified. The AIG Zone 2 Lagos is investigating; while the PPRO Zone 2, Lagos will speak to it as soon as possible.”
