The popular Nollywood actor, Mr. Ibu, has had one of his legs amputated after a long battle with an undisclosed disease.
The 62-year-old star, who is known for his hilarious roles in movies such as Mr. Ibu in London and Police Recruit, had earlier revealed in a video that he was suffering from a serious ailment that threatened to claim his leg.
He appealed to Nigerians to support him with prayers and donations, as he said the doctors had told him there was no option but to surgically remove his leg.
His daughter, Jasmine, confirmed the sad news in an Instagram post, where she shared a Press statement on his health status. She said her father had undergone seven surgeries and that the amputation was done to save his life.
She said they were still trying to cope with the new reality, and thanked everyone who had shown them love and support during this difficult time.
